Welcome to Nance On Fire's Studio

This is where I can spend hours getting lost into my work! My kiln is on the left where
I anneal my beads, so they are "strong like bull". My torch is called called a Lynx from
Glass Torch Technologies, and runs on oxygen and propane mix. Its a great torch
for detail.

This is where I store all the beautiful glass rods imported from Italy and Germany along
with frits and other fun stuff. The hose coming in from my wall is my propane source
which is located outside in a wooden box. The cans that you see hold my mandrels, which
are stainless steel rods dipped into a slip solution, this is what I make the beads on.

Heres a close up of some of the glass rods that I make your beads from.

This is my Oxygen concentrator that breaths life into my torch. Quinn is always by my side!

Those stringy looking things are called stringers, I pull them from my glass rods. They
help me decorate the beads. The torch is lit and gets to be about 1,800 degrees. Do I ever
get burned? Nah, (ya right)

After several hours of annealing in the kiln, I take my beads off the mandrels and clean
out the holes with a diamond drill bit attached to a dremel. Then off to the designing
table I go and get "lost" into my designing phase....
